    i'm trying to convert a mp4 file to avi the mp4 file has a h264 codec installed. i installed megui but when i went to open the file it kept crashing, so i installed a older version of megui, but then i was told to install avisynth which i did, i went back to open the file in megui but it still won't open. i'm a complete novice to all this avisynth stuff so any help would be much appreciated

    megui is mainly for converting TO mp4 with h264.

    Try instead latest super or alltoavi.
