  1. I downloaded a divx file with mp43 compression. I want to be able to convert this video to a mpeg so i can burn it to a vcd. However, i noticed that the video's colour is not the same throughout...for example, sometimes the video's saturation, contrast or brightness will just change. Also, in some parts (im not sure why this happens...mabee becuase it was compressed to divx format) a bright purple colour appears in areas that should be black or a dark colour. I already converted it to a mpeg file using TMPGEnc and using filters, tried to fix the problem. The colour will still change though, because a filter changes the colour, brightness, etc. for the ENTIRE video. I was wondering if you know of any programs or filters that would try and normalize, or stabalize the video's colour. To see an example (it might not look that bad but know there are parts in the video that look worse), click on the link below:

  2. Does your Original video have it? If not try frameserving using Avisynth.
I had this problem while converting VCD to DivX and fixed it by frameserving from Avisynth to TMPGEnc.

  3. There is a 'conditional' filter that executes based on certain events that happen in a video. Not too sure since I've never used it, but it seemed like it would execute a certain filter based on a certain condition suce as saturation or brightness. Check it out on the virtualdub filter page.

  4. Yes the original video has the problem, so I don't think using Avisynth would work...I havent tried using that "conditional" filter yet..but that sounds like it could work...
