A large black bar with the letters "GAB2" text shows up on the bottom left side of my Windows Media player. I'm trying to watch some movies with subtitles. There in there, I just to have to bring them out.

Upon looking up information. You have to instail the Combined Community Codec Package, cccp for short. I did so, In my media player, the black bar is gone along with the GAB2 text however the subtitles still will not show up. Does anyone know any other way to correct this? I know I'm very close. Please can someone assist me?

Kind of Subtitles: I'm pretty sure its not .sub files. srt files I dont know. Its a codec issue I know.
    Video: Avi

Upon further examination, by using cccp codec pack and using Media Player Classic player, go to view > options > output > VMR7 *renderless* (or VMR9 *renderless*). To my surprise, the subs actually show up. For some reason, media player classic player is the only one that works. I wanted to try and get it to work with Windows Media player but I can't find a way. Guess I'll have to stick with media player classic. If you or anyone else knows a way, please let me know.
