vob to wave

Hi all,
many thanx for all your help in the past.
Is there a simple FREE prog that can convert wave from a vob file, i have a backup dvd that i am converting to mpg with the help of Dvd decrypter (ripper), then converting with Tempenc to mpg, the vob falls into the video stream but not the audio. I know that there are 2 audio channels in the vob because Power DVD says there is, how do I extract the audio as a wave from the vob.

Several ways. The one I use is to open the Vob in DGIndex. Set Audio->Output Method as Decode AC3 Track To WAV. Then File->Save Project.

There is an ancient (circa 2001) program called Ciler's ac3 tool that I use to strip the ac3 track from a DVD and convert to WAV. It is really more of a GUI than a program as several different apps are used to do the real work. I use it if I want to make an audio CD of a DVD track that I can listen to in the car.
