Windows Media player 11 problem with some Avi's

Hi all, i just redid my computer and upgraded everything in windows XP, including the media player. Before i could play xvid and divx movies just fine with the old media player. I have windows media player 11 now. i have both divx and xvid codecs installed. The problem i have is some of my movies won't play in media player, but will play in media player classic or other players. When i load it up in Windows Media Player 11, it works but doesn't play. You can click on the timeline and see the images in the movie but it won't play. Does anybody know anything about this? thx for your help
