  1. Hi, I have a small clip I want to mirror, first the right side then switch and mirror the left side and then back to the right side but in Vegas at the moment I can only seem to apply the effect to the whole clip.
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or am I just being dumb
    Thanks.

  2. I don't know how vegas works, so I'll try to use a generic way to describe what you can do.

On video track 1, copy your footage, and put it above the original.

    Like this:

VIDEO TRACK 2: Copy of Clip
    VIDEO TRACK 1: Clip

On video track 1, apply Mirror effect.

Then, on video track 2, apply a linear wipe. This should cut the image and reveal video track 1.

If I understand you correctly, this is the effect you're trying to do?

In Vegas add the Sony Mirror filter to your clip. Set the angle to be 90 (reflect right side). Move the cursor on the keyframe to the frame where you want the flip to occur, and change the angle to -90 (reflect left) - a new keyframe will be created. Move the cursor to where you want it to flip back again, and change the angle back to 90. Again, a new keyframe will be created.

If you are using Vegas 7, make sure you upgrade to atleast 7.0b or c (current is d) or the keyframing won't work.

  5. Sorry forgot all about this, the problem I am having is I only want to add the mirror effect to the last few seconds of a clip, when I select the filter at the moment it's applying it to the entire clip.
    Thanks again.

  6. I thought I had sorted it but I'm still having a few niggles. I want to just select the mirror selection on a frame range at the start of the clip and then the opposite way at the end.
I did it once but in the middle of the clip I'm editing where I didn't want any effects I got a weird 360 degree wipe knida thing going on

CTL-S will split the clip so you can apply different filters to each subclip.

Sorry the split command is the Windows button then S. The video and audio clips need to be highlighted.
