  1. I recently tried to burn a DivX .avi file to VCD.
I converted it to Mpeg using TmpgEnc.
It worked fine. It played as an .mpg in Windows Media Player
However, when I tried to burn it to vcd using Nero,
I received an error message saying that the file wasn't supported
    or some similar message.

Any ideas? Did I miss something?
Are there any programs that will convert and burn DivX to VCD
in one go without having to go through more than one procedure?

I'm assuming you want to make a VCD for playing in a stand alone DVD player. DiVX is not a recognised format for compliant VCD or SVCD, and is not supported in standalone units. Nero will not recognise it as compliant for this reason, and no standalone players have the DiVX codec in their hardware to play it back anyway. You must use standard MPEG 1 for VCD and MPEG 2 for SVCD.

    Hope that helps,
    Graham

  4. maybe when you converted your avi file
using tmpgenc, you forgot to load the vcd template?

press load, and select either a pal or ntsc vcd template
depending on which one you want.

this will make a standard vcd compliant vcd which
is recognised when burnt with nero.

  5. I have also had trouble with converting avi to mpeg using Tmpeg. I load the template and everything. When I load the file it gives an error with the audio. Also is there any faster way of converting? I hate to have to wait like 15 hours for a movie to convert.

What type of computer do you have? As well, how long is the movie and what settings are you using?
