If your cam is a mini-dv cam or digital 8 and you transferred it as DV-AVI it's an exact duplicate of what's on the tape.
If you are new to this I'd suggest getting a RW disc, capture a short length of video preferably something with some motion in it and author the short clip to disc. Compare it to what you have when you play the footage directly from the cam to TV, if you aon the right track the two should be practically indistiguisahble.
You can't judge it on a computer monitor, the footage on your cam is interlaced and your computer monitor is progressive. -
the thing is when i watch just the uneditied footage it seems fine however as soon as i drop the footage onto the permiere time line and start to edit with it it the lines go all pixelated however as a stand alone piece the uneditied footage seems fine.
why would it change when i put it in the timeline? -
If you're referring to the way the video looks in the "Monitor" window then it can look less than perfect - that window, and any other small preview window in Premiere, is exactly that: a preview window.
If you've captured in DV AVI and your Premiere Project Settings are correct, then it's highly unlikely you'll have any troubles.
Follow thecoalman's suggestions. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room. -
once again
thank you for your advice guys.
I shall do what coalman suggested
cheers
