  1. moin, moin...

    This is my first ask for help here and I hope,
    my Denglish is understandable :)

    I use to capture Music-Video-Clips from some
    of our German stations using VDub and than I
    convert them to MP3 and MPEG1 using TMPgenc.

    I don't really care about the logos in the
    corner, but now, one of the stations got the
    crazy idea of running 2 horizontal scroll-
    texts at the bottom of the screen.

    Guess what ?

    Yes, I want to get rid of them ;)

    So my first ask for an advice is about the
    easiest way to kill them. I would prefer a
    VDub-Plugin as I already have to do some
    cutting with VDub.

    My second question might not be solved by a
    free utility, but I just hope ;)

    For MP3s I use ID3-Tags (and attributes under
    BFS) to easyly keep infos about the song.

    As far as I know, ID3-Tags can't be used with
    MPEG1, so I got the idea, to replace the above
    mentioned scrolltext by a discreet one of my
    own, which may contain the data.
    Or a "standing" text, but I have to test, if
    it would only be ok at the start or whether it
    will be ok through the whole clip.

    Could one of these things be done with a plugin
    for VDub.

    Third and last point is fading.

    Sometimes I can't cut correctly, no matter how
    hard I try. Is there a batchable plugin, that
    allows fade-in/-out for both, video AND audio ?

    I dislike to use an additional program, as I do
    mostly batches with VDub/TMPGenc and would skip
    this idea, if it would break batching.

    Oh...
    ...and I hope this was the right place to ask
    and that I didn't overlook a FAQ/Howto/posting
    that covers exactly my questions.

    bis denne...

  2. First of all, you may not be "very" successful in removing the scrolling text. You could try the DeLogo filter with VirtualDub, but since the text you want to remove is dynamic, your background may not blend properly.
    However your idea of putting your own text looks fine. It will hide the blended background well. You can use the subtitler filter downloaded from the virtualdub site. There is an example SSA script which will help you add standing or scrolling text.
    I am not aware of a FadeIn/FadeOut filter for virtualdub- though there may be one. If not, you could try Avisynth.

  3. moin, moin...

    I've mostly solved it with plugins:

    1. scroller away -> border control
    2. logo away -> logoaway
    3. own subtitle -> subtitler
    4. own scroller -> subtitler

    remaining issue:

    I don't find a way to loop my own
    scrolltext.

    thanks for the help...
