I mostly use Vegas, Premiere Pro, and ULead Video Studio depending on the requirements.
Vegas for general dv format work
Premiere/Premiere Pro for layered graphics intensive projects.
Video Studio for quick editing TV captures and realtime software MPeg encoding from capture cards.
I use VirtualdubMod to convert and prep material for use in the other programs. -
Vegas
Ulead videostudio 9
Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus
EditStudio
But I still prefer using freeware ... no limit's to creativity and everybody gets a chance to explore ... and more support .
Virtualdub
Windows movie maker (part of os)
Avid Free DV
AviTricks
Then their's the 100 or so supporting tool's ...
Now if my dog could do it all ... then I'd be a happy nutt . -
How about 'None of the above'.
AviSynth and Virtualdub used in combination are my editors of choice along with QuEnc and/or HC for encoding. I have an older version of Ulead VS, but I rarely use it."Shut up Wesley!" -- Captain Jean-Luc Picard

I capture with Pinnacle Studio (because that's all the Dazzle 150 will allow me to use) and edit with ArcSoft ShowBiz.

Vegas, Premiere But I also like Freeware Virtualdub...

Avisynth & VirtualDubMod or the Womble Mpeg Video Wizard. Depending on how fancy or professional I want the results to look.

Sony Vegas 6 for advanced video projects
VirtualDubMod for general useThe more you know, the more there is to know... -
Oh, that I had time to edit! Been too busy writing video-related software! Got quite a backlog of tapes, too....

I don't use any one program.
For advanced editing, I tend to use Adobe Premiere 6.5. I might upgrade in the future. No rush, I'm happy as is. Just a few new features are tempting.
For MPEG editing, I use both Womble MPEG-VCR and Womble MPEG Video Wizard. MPEG-VCR is faster for good files, but if the file is at all imperfect, MVW is needed.
I've not done much editing in about 3-4 months now. Busy with other stuff.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Since most of editing is done with DV-AVI files, it's another vote for the combo of AviSynth and VirtualDubMod

For analog capture, Studio 9.4 (it came with my pinnacle card), for editing (both simple and complex projects); Premiere 6.5 ...my reasons?, well, lordsmurf just said what I´d say practically word by word (will get the Pro version when I start editing HDV, I suppose)

Pinnacle Studio 9.4 right now( ordered 10.0 with hopes of a free upgrade to 10.7 ). I wanted to use Adobe Premiere Elements 3, but it lacks something I think is essential: scene detection. No, the time / date info detection is useless to me because I'm capturing VHS. Ah, well. I think I'm happy with it.

None of the above. AviSynth and Virtualdub used in combination are my editors of choice.

Pinnacle Studio 10.7 for editing, Hauppauge 250PVR card to capture
-
None of the above.
I use my ATI All-In-Wonder 8500DV and ATI MMC 9.2 for capture to MPEG-2.
Complex editing with transitions, effects, etc. with Serif's Movie Plus 5.
If just simple frame deleting, and DVD authoring, then TMPGEnc DVD Author Pro 2.

Most of the time I use VirtualDub Mod to edit AVI type files and Womble Mpeg Video Wizard for MPEG.
-
Virtual Dub MPEG-2 or Virtual Dub Mod, either one with AVISynth

Premiere for any "from scratch" projects (e.g. DV footage of my own).
Womble for plain MPG cutting.
Audition for any audio stuff.
EDIT: Disclaimer -- I work for a college and so get Adobe stuff at a serious discount, and do a lot of Photoshop stuff, so Premiere is both affordable and easy for my Photoshop'd brain to figure out.Womble MPEG Video Wizard has saved my life so many times I've lost count.

Ulead VideoStudio 10Plus
Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.x
Vegas 7
Depends on the video source and the type of video project I need to work on...
