  1. Can i safely wipe DVD marker text from DVD's? I got double ended DVD marker pen and i wrote with thick end to some of my first DVDR's and that looks kind of ugly. So i would like to wipe those texts and write again with thin end, if it's possible? And if it's possible, what is the best method to do that?

I use isopropyl alcohol to remove 'Sharpie' permanent marker writing with a saturated soft paper towel. The 99% does the best, but even the 60-70% rubbing alcohol does well. Don't use any that has other additives.

If the marker has been there a while, it won't get it all. You will have some residue that soaks in, but it's usually faint. It won't hurt the disc, no matter what some people think. I submerged a DVD for 3 days in 99% just to do a test, and at least with the one I used (Pro-disc) there was no damage and I still play that DVD occasionally.

But you still might want to test it on your media before proceeding.

Most large grocery markets carry it in the medicine section and drug stores would all have it. Very common and inexpensive. Just ask for isopropyl alcohol or as it's commonly called, rubbing alcohol. It's used for skin massages and that's where that name came from. The percent tells you the alcohol/water content. The 99% is a little harder to find, but drug stores would commonly have it.

Got any spray on colonge or your woman's perfume handy ??

I use Brut Spray on ... under arm spray ... it's handy and in the hallway bathroom.

I then grab the bar of soap next to the bathroom sink and lather it up and then rinse off the DVD/CD disk and wipe it dry with the towel hanging over the bathtub glass door.

    Very HIGH TECH ...

A bottle of spray Dry-Erase board cleaner also works well.

Those dry erase cleaners (And most cologne) likely contain alcohol, as that is the base solvent for Sharpies and other writers to speed up drying. Isopropyl alcohol does work well for removal.
