    Hello

    I have just installed 2 Pioneer DVR 111D's into my computer and upgraded their firmware to 8.29 according to this HowTo --> http://forums.speedlabs.org/index.php?topic=1082.0. Both updates worked fine and my computer is now seeing my drives as 111L's. These drives are also located on two different IDE channels.

    I have been able to successfully burn on both drives individually and have also been able to do a direct copy of a DVD from one drive to the other. The only thing I am having trouble with is burning 2 DVDs (with the same content) at the same time using Nero's "Use Multiple Drives" option.

    I tried first burning them at 6x and both came back with an "Illegal Disc" error. The funny thing is, this error only came up after they were already at 100%--both of those DVDs now seem to be working fine. I thought I would retry the process at 4x to see if that would help. This time, one came back with an "Illegal Disc" error at about 10% and the other one burned fine.

    I am not burning .iso's, I am burning DVD Video's created by ConvertXtoDVD. I am burning with Nero Burning ROM 7.7.5.1 Premium.

    My Specs:
    -AMD X2 4600+
    -1GB OCZ Platinum RAM
    -300GB SATA Seagate HDD
    -2xPioneer DVR 111D's updated to 111L located on separate IDE controllers

    Here is my Nero log for the one that failed at 6x after writing 100% Nero Log

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    It's spitting the dummy on the media ... 16x DVD-R Verbatim blanks. Media code is MCC 03 RG20

    : (LBN: FFFD0000 h, 4193920 MB) ... might just be a stupid glitch by nero , cause you cant fit that to media .

    Other forums reporting this problem with " - " media ... " + " appears to be fine .

    Media Specific [16..63]:
    00 60 00 10 20 30 40 50 - 00 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 .`...0@P...!....
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

    Info found appears to be incomplete

    ============

    Grab this : dvd identifier at http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/my_site/download.php
    Load disc , hit info button , then click "more info ... finally click tab "media code block"

    Check what is refered too after the ***INFO line's ... and compare to those above .

    ============

    Do you have another brand of media you can use to test for comparison ?

    It is suggested to burn slower than 4x , when using both drive's ... though that would be pointless .

    If successful :

    1: Poor media batch ... could you confirm the media that has failed ... who made it ?
    2: Issue with nero .

    Though this second one would be rare , you might want the nero clean out tool , uninstall nero completely , then run the tool .
    Reboot pc , and reload nero , reboot once more .

    Then see how it work's , as you had updated the drive's firmware .

    Seem's that a few have dumped v7 , and gone back to nero 6.6 .

    ============

    Just read that firmware guide .... someone done something silly ... didnt they .

    There are numerous reports about media not being detected correctly using this cross over flash ... check on poor old zebra's report ... their having an issue with the same media ...

    Upadate: Burning 2 discs at once works only with DVD+R's for me. I guess this is a small sacrifice and at least it's working. I was able to do a 4x burn with a successful data verification. Thanks for the input.

    Sigh, another update: after that first dual disc copy with +R's, all the rest are hanging at 100%. Nero just sits there and watches the time go by... What's goin on here?
