I have a number of screen savers that I have put in the correct directory within Windose (XP - home) but none of them show up for me to select from the screen properties.

any ideas what i am doing wrong?

the screensavers themselves work when i run them directly.

  2. Right click on screen saver file and select Install
Or copy screen saver file to c:\windows\system32 directory.

Just to clarify, the files you have copied there are screen savers - they have a .scr extension ?

    yup they do....

I have tried right-clicking and installing them.
all this does is take me directly to the screen saver choice screen in screen properties, but it doesnt add the screensaver to the list.....

    arghh...

nope, although i have noticed that if i install one it will become the active one (although i dont know if this persists beyond a reboot) but it doesnt appear in the list, so properties etc are not available

and once it is the active one, clicking ok, then again returning to properties won't keep it in the list?
