I just got a Sony DVMC-DA2. It works great. But the resulting AVIs are HUGE. About 4Gigs for 20 Minutes of video. I am looking for a new drive to get dedicated to capturing.
I was gonna get a 80gig Firewire drive, but it's 5400rpms. I figure I could get a 60gig IDE, 7200rpms for a lot less.
What specs do I need to look for when looking for a drive to capture to?

Deefinitely get the bigges you can afford, really wouldn't recommend anything less that 30Gig if you have several projects going on. The bare minimum for good captures is ATA/66 and 7200rpm. To make sure your system captures at max defrag your drive at least once a month. Besides that I would recommend a band such as WD or IBM. Who'd want to loose a 60Gig drive chock full of processed video?
