I got some video files from HDTV, I think they are in H264 or Xvid format. I use Roxio EasyCD Creator to burn a DVD, then put it into a dvd player. The picture quality is perfect, very sharp, just like I saw it in my PC LCD, but it's inverted. I have to head down to view it, or like my wife said, we have to flip vertical our plasma :-) So, what could make this problem? Should I upgrade Roxio EasyCD creator version? I use 6.0? maybe, I am not sure. I also tried use WinAVI converted it to dvd first, then burn, but there was no picture with Roxio or there is a shaked picture by Nero. I was looking for solution over videohelp.com, but seems like no such issue available. Anyone happened to encount this problem before? And how did you solve it? thanks a lot......

1) Roxio and nero on same computer...BAD.
2) Roxio was one of the best for CD creation...
3) Roxio is notorious crap in the DVD world.
4) I am 99% sure that Roxio EasyCD Creator could
not do ANYTHING with Xvid or anything similar....
4)...so I'm guessing your DVD player is able to play
Xvid/Dvix? -
I guess that easycd creator converts to dvd. Try instead ConvertXtoDVD.
And this is no dvd to avi conversion. Moving you. -
So, you mean Nero is better than Roxio in DVD creation? Thanks for replying me.Originally Posted by hech54

In most cases I'd say yes....although I do not own Nero.Originally Posted by gary5935

You still need to supply MUCH more information about the origin
or type of video file you are trying to convert. -
I tried it with ConvertXtoDVD, it did work this time. It can be played in my DVD player, the picture is good, but it is not as good as it's original avi file played in PC. Should we expect some video quality loss during the conversion? Or I need set up something within the ConvertXtoDVD? I just used it default setting. thanks.Originally Posted by Baldrick

With Convertxtodvd, definitely. With other better encoding programs, not so much.Originally Posted by gary5935"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa

I would certainly argue that Roxio was "one of the best for CD creation" since it was notorious for not allowing overburning at one time. I don't know if they ever fixed that or not, but that's a huge drawback in my opinion.
gary5925 - Take a look at

which covers the "upside down video" problem. It might be helpful to you. -
Roxio was junk from day dot ... audio cd's was the only thing it was good at .
Roxio and nero have had a long history of causing conflicts with system's when both are installed ... so chose nero instead .
You will also need to repair aspi as it get's screwed up by roxio , and this interferes with nero's abilities .
--------------------
Codec pack's :
From what I recall about the nimo pack , I think the issue was to do with a feature only meant to be installed if you had a specific vga card installed ... it has a warning about the flipped video , and to only install it , in reference to a particular video card type .
Other codec pack's may also include this , but provide no mean's of disabling the feature .
This is why they should be avoided like the plague . -
