Has nobody encountered this error before or is it just to common for you to bother replying?

Personally never had any problems with ffmpeggui, but then again, I rarely load the AVI directly. I usually either decode the audio to wav in Goldwave, or at least demux it with VirtualDub.
At this point it's hard to tell what's wrong, but it's most likely some anomaly in your source file.
It can be the AVI as such, or the audio stream in the AVI or maybe even the video stream - who knows - but I suggest you at least demux the audio before encoding it with ffmpeggui.
And - Please don't bump your topics - wait at least a day or two.

Look at the playtime of the video, 1 h 57 min. and the playtime of the audio, about 17 seconds. I guess, as mats suggested, there is something wrong with your source avi.

    Cheers.

Just try the extract to AC3 again. I get this error from time to time.

Load the avi file into VirtualDubMod then click "Streams" then "Stream List". The streams box opens and you can then see your audio. Click "Save Wav". This will simply save the audio to a file using direct stream copy (exact copy).

Give it a new name then click Save.

    Good luck.

Thanks, it worked and then I converted that wav into AC3 using ffmpeggui.
