    Hi!

I'm trying to convert my mkv file to avi in order to play it on my standalone player.
I've read many tutorials, but none of them worked for this file.
    I installed matroska pack.
I tried demuxing the mkv with Virtualdubmod. I didnt work but no problem the tutorial said it may happen.
Then I tried mkvextract. But all I got was a 0 kB audio (ac3) file, and an empty chapters.txt.
Then I tried winavi, alltoavi, river past video cleaner and then super.
Winavi doesnt do anything, it stays on 0%.
    Alltoavi cannot be used either...
River past creates a very small avi file that is of course not good.
Super stops with error, not really specifying what kind of error.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

I show you what mediainfo says about the file:
    Code:

If mkvextract can't extract, then I would say that there is something wrong with the file. Anything muxed via mkvmerge should be demuxable via mkvextract.

Check that you are using at least v1.8.1. Latest is I think v2.0.0.

    Right I'm stuck again.
Now I have a .h264 file. I'd like to convert it to divx.
Virtualdub(mod) doesnt recognize this ext. Even if i open the file it says cannot detect file type.
Super cannot convert it... I tried MEncoder, ffmpeg with and without directshow... But it can play it! its only that it cant encode it.
    Winavi doesnt recognize it either.
I'm starting to think what i want is impossible...

    Pls help a bit more...

mencoder and ffmpeg definatly both support raw H.264 streams. Then again they both also support mkv input. With mkv there are no issues with framerate detection either.
