Hi there...
I have successfully repaired one of my DR-MV1US units that I posted elsewhere about with new caps, resistors, and a new processor board (old boards are FRIED).
Anyway, these are my parents' units that I got them as gifts, and I'm thinking of getting an SR-MV40US to replace the other MV1US.
Since the SR-MV40US is a semi-professional unit, does it ignore copy protection on discs and tapes or does it act like a normal consumer unit and simply refuse to dub copy-protected discs/tapes? I know that all of my professional audio gear (minidisc decks, cd recorders, dat decks) ignore SCMS so that you can dub protected discs and tapes. I am hoping the SR-MV40US will perform similarly, letting you copy copy-protected discs and tapes.
Can anyone confirm one way or another?
Thanks!
Jeff

Not sure if you can loop out of the VHS to a TBC, then back into the DVD.
