I just read that a guy had a problem with some TY's and didn't know if it was the TY's or the Drive. And he got his TY's form Super meida store and FulciLives said that they TY products are questionable.

But my problem, I have a post somewhere else that talks about my drive only burning single layers and not DL,

caus every single I get it spits it back out "no probelm" but when I put a DL in it'll burns to aboat 15-20% don and then my system spits out the bad dvd. one burned completely but it failed the data check and I've made costers out of about 8-10 for 'em.

So now I'm thinking it's probably the company that sold 'em to me cause I only buy from Rima Meritline or some last store but I'll have to go home to look at my Bookmarks to say. Any way ... Could it be the whole bundle of DL's or my drive cause it didn't start messing up until the first 3-4 disc

  2. Do you have the latest firmware for the burner? If not, update the firmware.

Well, you never said what "brand" of DL media you are using.

  5. I've burned a few hundred or more value TYs from Supermediastore on an NEC 3500, the few times I had problems were defective discs that I could have seen were bad if I'd looked at them first.

I've burned a few thousand of the TY valueline from Supermedia the past couple of years and can probably count on my hands and maybe one foot the number of bad discs. I've used a Samsung, a BenQ, a Nec 3500, Nec 3520a, and now I have two Nec AD7170A and they all have done the job on single layer or DL with the correct firmware. If you are using TY from Supermedia then I would have to think you have a drive problem or firmware problem.
