Hi,
I've downloaded a DivX file which is 23.98fps, I need to convert it to DVD 25fps. The file is widescreen. All attempts so far have produced stuttering because of the added frames.
It is to be played on a PAL DVD player and Widescreen TV. How can i get smooth playback?
I'm a bit of a newbie on this so a step by step guide on how to tackle this would be great.
I have an Intel Mac on OSX
Thanks in advance
Craig

I'd be astounded if your DVD player and TV can't cope with NTSC.
What make/model are they ? -
I dont think you'll get good result with any software on that type of conversion /NTSC film > PAL/...There will be some sluttering always...But as ffooky said, that PAL DVD player will play NTSC DVDs for sure...
You can do NTSC pulldown during encoding and get the 29.97 FPS MPEG2.. -
Thanks for all your responses. I think it'll play NTSC 29.97 but not 23.98fps. What could i use to pull down to 29.97 on a mac that would blend rather than stutter?
Thanks

Well, this is not the place where I should praise my app, so do some searching for freeware/shareware/commercial/ MPEG2 encoders for Mac here and/or on Macupdate.com and Versiontracker.com and check which one has 3/2 pulldown encoding...Then try some of them /or all/ and decide which one is best for you...
