    Hi.

Can anyone advise me on the best way to go for Cabe HD service. My problem is in the past I used a Cable card. Now I'm using a HD Cable box with the component wire that came from Brighthouse/Time warner. Seems the quailty of the HD picture isn't as good as it was with the cable card. I have a 50" Samsung DCR Plasma. My question is... what gives the best quality picture? Cable card, HD cable box with (high end component wires), HD cable box with (HDMI) out put? Of course the bright house people dont have a clear answer for me. I understand the problems with cable cards not able to recieve some services such as, on demand, payperview, updates etc. What I really want to know is what delivers the best possible picture quality?

    Thank you.

I personally use the cable card. I have no interest in the other features a cable box offers. First, with the cable card, I do not have to pay the cable company any more money than I already do. Secondly, why use an external HD receiver if the TV already has one. with a cable card the TV does not have to deal with an externally processed signal and there is less of a path the signal has to go through for viewing. I think the picture would be better with the cable card. If nothing else, who wants an ugly cable company box cluttering the setup.

I use Cable Card from Comcast for HD and it's great. As long as you don't need Video On Demand, it could be good for you too.
