I installed Nero 7 Essentials which came packaged with my new writer. It is a freakin' parasite piece of junk! It has taken over my PC in that some of my apps no longer work.
They now "lock up" on me. I uninstalled it, but low-and-behold, it leaves remnants of itself all over the place. I went into the registry to delete this garbage and it still has a stranglehold on my system.
I'm going to have to wipe out my OS drive and reinstall everything from scratch. What a pisser!

Tons of threads on the Internet about this. IIRC, people are writing custom de-installers to address this problem.
A formerly great product, but they sold out to the whims and desires of the OEMs
