Hello, this is my first time writing in a question to this website. So excuse my "newbieness." The burning of the "Saw 3" DVD is making me pull my hair out. I realize Sony has put on a new copyright protection that is making most software programs ineffective at even reading this disc. I typically have a great deal of success using DVD shrink 3.2 to decrypt and compress movies that will fit onto a dvd-5 disc (4.7 GB) and then use Nero Vision Express to burn the hard drive files from Shrink. I cannot use DVDclone2 (don't ask why..its a long story) Anyway, needless to say, Shrink does not work with Saw 3 (didn't work with Gridiron Gang either.)
Nero does not have a compression option, and while DVD decrypter will let you rip just the movie, sometimes it is still too large to fit on a dvd-5 disc. Since DVD shrink is most likely never going to update the current version, are there any other all-in-one free softwares that compress AND decrypt DVD's and allow you to save the files to your hard drive so I can burn them with Nero? Also, are there any free software downloads that I can run in the background that will allow DVD shrink 3.2 to initially analyze Saw 3?
(Please only answer if you are completely certain, since a greater # of posted answers makes it more difficult to find the right answers) Thank you in advance! Jason

Do a forum search, there's at least two threads on Saw 3.

Try using one of the following two options:

1.) Use RipIt4Me ... this program is a "front-end" to DVD Decrypter and FixVTS and should work for you.
2.) Use DVDFabDecrypter which works like DVD Decrypter

In fact a new version of DVDFabDecrypter was just released and in the notes for this release it clearly states, "Added full support for "Saw III" (US)"

So there you go. Just use DVDFabDecrypter and then open it up with DVDShrink (pointing to the ripped files).
