    Hello all.
I just did a quick test of my Sony DVD-R 16x DVDs after burning a DVD using about 96% of the disc's capacity.
I'm testing using NERO CD-DVD Speed utility and I wanted to share my results with you as they don't seem to be very good (however, i'm not sure how to interpret my results because i have nothing to them compare to). Here they are:

    PI Errors:
    Average - 826.37
    Max - 1438

    PI Failures:
    Average - 106.64
    Max - 408

Also, all tests were done at a 4x read speed.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post, any input is appreciated.

Here's a quick-n-dirty explanation for interpreting results from DVDInfoPro (similar?) from the ImgBurn forum:

    May give you a start.

Here's another guide, focusing on Nero CD-DVD Speed, that I had bookmarked at home:

    That should help.

That scan indicates a horrible burn. I typically look for and get PI failures of max <= 4 and PI errors of average <= 10 and max <= 50.

I'd have trouble playing a burnt disc in any of my standalone players with a scan that show. Have you tried playing yet?

    First off,
I want to thank all of you who replied.

Now, it appears the results i was getting from my Lite-On burner were NOT accurate because i tried doing the test with my Pioneer drive and the test results were much better (i think the failures were about 4).
i will update the firmware of my Lite-on drive and re-test.
