I have had trouble with .dat vcd files as sometimes there are confused with system files. Do you have nero vision express that is the nero software to make dvds. Nero express can make a vcd, but better to use vision express. How did you copy vcd to system and get it in .dat format? I don't know how to get .dat vcd format to record to disc. Someway to convert that to a video file is a suggestion. Can you playback that .dat file? Do you know of another way to get on your computer but as a video file like .avi?

Simple enough. The easy way is to use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It will automatically convert the 44.1Khz audio to the 48Khz standard DVD audio rate and burn it. VCD video is already DVD compliant, just the audio is wrong. Easy is to rename the .dat files to .mpg and convert the audio. If you look to the upper left on our site for 'WHAT IS' DVD, you will see the DVD format and specifications. <<<<<<

You can try Nero after renaming the .dat and converting the audio, but I'd be suprised if Nero does it without messing it up. Nero is OK for burning, but not much else, IMO.

    And welcome to our forums.
