  1. Hi,

I'm following the VCD to DVD guides, and am having a problem with TMPGEnc accepting
the newly converted MPG file. As per the guide it says you may receive an error message
but just ignore this. However, the error message I am receiving casnnot be bypassed.

    The error reads:

Cannot apply smart-rendering on this file.
Could not find the necessary information to process this file with smart rendering.
It is possibly an MPEG-1 with variable bitrate. This format does not contain the maximum bitrate information needed for the smart render function.

So I cannot continue. I have tried two different DAT movies the I have used ISO Buster to convert to MPG but I get the same error on both.

    Can you help?

    Thanks.

Well, it could actually be VBR video - which is not really a valid for VCD, but may have been authored as VCD anyway. Not sure how to fix this without reencoding, but youi could try remultiplexing the mpg using TMPGEnc (the encoder, not DVD Author).
