    Is a capture card the same as a video card or is it a different piece of hardware.

    Two animals most times.

    Display card = Video card is for computer monitor display.

    Capture card is for input A/D and or tuner.

    Cards like ATI "All-In-Wonder" and ATI/NVidia VIVO (video in video out) have both on the same card.
