    my compaq sempron 3400, 512mb is running at 100% cpu and i checked the processes running and could not find anything suspicious. and I do not have any programs opened.

    what should i check?

    CTRL-ALT-DEL. click on "Processes" and scroll down the list. Look in the column marked "CPU" and you'll see the percentage of use each process is using. Find the one that's hogging.

    You can permanently disable a service by going to control panel>Administrative Tools>Services and scroll down and find the service. Right-click>Properties and you can set whether it starts automatically, manually, or is disabled. You can also turn it off from that screen.

    i did check and limewire was using the highest memory, and i ended the process and it was still at 100%cpu, right now i am running adware to check if that helps, thanks
