Burning Questions

I have 3 questions...

1. I am using Dazzle DVC-USB and it claims to capture video in MPEG1 format and it creates a file with a ".mpg" in its name. However, when I prepare to burn a VCD using Nero (demo), it says that my file isn't the proper format and needs to be encoded. Does this mean that all captured video has to be encoded despite the fact it has a ".mpg"?

2. When burning a VCD with Nero (demo), it says that the file isn't in the proper format so I click on the "ignore and continue with burn" option. The final VCD plays on my stand alone DVD player producing great video and audio. However, the video does have some flaws during playback. It will jump and occasionally have large "blocks" appear.

These flaws are actually burned onto the VCD and are NOT caused by the DVD player. Hw can I burn video without these problems? Will using different software or burning at a slower rate like 2x correct these problems?

3. Is it possible to record more video clips to a CDR that already has files or video on it? I always get an error with Nero (demo) that says "media is not empty, please insert an empty media disc" even though the CD is writable. Does this mean that I have to throw a CD away even though only 5 minutes of it has been used?

First you need to examine the file that your are creating, how far off vcd compliancy is it and what parameter is off, something is off or nero would not give you the error.

If it isn't a critical parameter then I would try your next to ideas and see if that works.

I have figured out the first 2 questions I had. But I still would like help with my 3rd question.
