In my projects I usually always make a menu for scene selection, i.e., a menu with several titles, as many as the chapters I set in the movie (normally about 10 to 15). After linking the titles to the respective chapters, I always test the menu navigability using the simulation option. Here is when I use to find the problems: when navigating the titles, it sometimes jumps one title here, another title there… For instance, if I have 12 titles/chapters, when I press the Down key on the remote the result may be:
1-2-3-5-6-7-9-11-12
So it jumps titles 4, 8 and 10, making it impossible to select them. Next, if I press the Up key of the remote I may get:
12-10-9-8-7-5-3-2-1
Now it jumped titles 11, 6 and 4. But if I press the “Play all” button, or if I press “title/chapter 1” button, I can see the whole movie (from 1 to 12) without interruptions. I got exactly the same result after burning the disc, I’ve noticed it already.
Does anyone knows why this is happening all the time? What is the solution?
Thanks in advance,
Mário

Just above your menu design window is a small check box marked Auto-Route. Untick this, and four buttons with colour arrows become available, just to the right. Use these to manually set the pathway that your menu should follow. I never use Auto-route because it is based on the order you create your menu items in, and if that alters, or you clone buttons and then edit them, the routing gets screwed.
