MP3 Codec for Nero Vision

I'm using Nero Vision to capture videos with th Pinnacle PCTV! I'm capturing the videos in AVi format and using divx 6.4 codec as the video compressor. The problem is with the audio compressor. Nero Vision doesn't gives me an mp3 option for the audio. The options it gives me is too big like PCM, increasing the file size. I'm needing a codec that I can use with Nero Vision!!

I don't get it - you use NeroVision to compress what to AVI? Or are you using NeroVision to convert your AVI into something else?

Codec should be there in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins

Not only the lame mp3 (v3.96.1.0), but Nero mp3pro, as well.
At least with Premium version it is.

The dll of lame and mp3pro are already in the correct place like you said, but it still doesn't work!!


This is the screen of Nero vision, and in the "Compressor de áudio:" list, doesn't have a mp3 codec for me to choose. What I have to do to use lame or another mp3 codec here?

With divx I didn't have any problems, as soon as I installed, it was there for me to choose it!

I downloaded LAME 3.97 Release and installed (It's just right click on LameAcm.inf and hit install, isn't it?), but it wasn't visible in nero vision!! Any idea?

While this is an old post - I've had this problem in Nero Vision 4. It turns out I had to increase the priority of the Lame Codec in Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Hardware -> Audio Codecs -> Properties. Select the codec you want in the list and increase its priority (I think I used 4 or 5).

However I never could get Nero Vision to let me configure the codec, so this may not help much.
