    Hi

I am encoding a number of adobe premiere pro 1.5 projects to avi and whenever I do it they seem to come out slightly grainy especially on digital logos and effects.

Can anyone give me any pointers or advice?

or as anyone had the same problem?

    thanks.

  2. More info needed...

    What format are you using?

Can you post an example frame?

Cheers for your speedy response johnny

my pc isnt letting me take a screen shot at the mo

but I'm using pal format and burning the dvd using adobe encore.

so at the moment i am just going to export movie in premiere pro 1.5 then encoding it as an avi and then importing it into encore and burning it.

would i be better encoding it as an mpeg to then put into encore?

or should i just choose the export to dvd option in premiere pro?

    cheers

Normal practice is to encode to optimal DVD MPeg2 in Premiere and import that into Encore for DVD authoring.

Be warned that the Premiere encoder VBR default average 6Mb/s is low for handheld camcorder or graphics intensive presentations. I'd use 8Mb/s or better. Also for detailed graphics, consider CBR to stop bitrate pumping.

Ok I've encoded to dvd mpeg 2 and it now just seems to be the after effect files that are grainy and slightly blured. however when i play them on premiere pros timeline they look fine.

    any ideas?
