After capturing to uncompressed RGB with VirtualDub Mod, I can't use it with Premiere6.0(says it doesn't recognize the format). I could have sworn that I used RGB in Premiere from VirtualDub before, so I'm wondering if something has happened or if I may have changed one of the many Premiere settings and not realized it.
Any ideas where I should start to look for a solution to this situation?

RGB comes in a variety of formats, specifically the pixel bit resolution.
e.g.,
RGB24 - 24-bit, 8 for each R, G and B
RGB32 - 32-bit, 8 for each R, G and B + 8 either unused or for alpha.
Which kind are you using?John Miller -
Also, Premiere 6.0 was a way point on the way to a stable release. Version 6.5 is the final release in the original Premiere series and that is stable and usable. Attempting to make 6.0 work requires detailed examination of the the various Abobe release notes of 1999-2001. A good job for a young research assistant.

I know Premiere6.0 stinks, but it's all I got right now. I can't justify buying a new version until my next feature length job. I'm thinking about getting Vegas MovieStudio 7.0 in the interim, but for now I've got to do anything I can to make as much work with Premiere6.0 as I can. It does OK with DV AVI files, that's mostly what I'm using now, it's the analog caps I'm having trouble with.
If it's too much trouble, I'll just get a Canopus 110 or DAC 200 firewire capture device and bail the whole issue. -
Just guessing but your files could be 16bit instead of 24. I just did a quick uncompressed VDM capture test and the files came out 16...?
Besides capturing in straight uncompressed also I tried ffdshow - uncompressed - and set it to rgb24. Worked great. Resulting files were 24bit.
You could use VirtualDubMOD and convert your files to rgb24 using Video - Color Depth - output format to 24bit.
Good luck.

Thanks for that information, it definitely helps me out.
I do like one day of analog caps, then DV for a month. I try to record all my settings so I can go back to them but always seem to leave some little thing out. I always try to squeeze the best quality I can out of every video, even if it takes a bit more effort.
