I am converting some helmet camera footage from a format of MPEG4 to eventually DVD and I know we need to to edit the footage but tmpgen does not read these MPEG4 files (it sees the beginning frame and thats it).

I have winavi converter and it will convert these files OK *only* to VOBs . When I try and convert to mpeg2 and look at them in Windows media player media player hangs. I even tried to use Mediacoer to convert the file to an MPEG2 format file and I get a successful but the file does not display in windows media player.

I need to get this mpeg4 file edited out a little and sent to DVD format.

    This is real frustrating.

    Any ideas??? suggestions???

Have you tried Windows Movie Maker? It can output in DV and you can convert that to MPEG with most any encoder. The next one to try might be SUPER as it handles quite a few formats.
