  1. Hi people!!

I need help... I have a video (Guinea Pig 2 - Flowers Of Flesh And Blood.mpg) and I'm trying to convert it to .avi using WinAVI. The problem is that, everytim I try, it gives an error message: "Cant decode this file! may be the file is broken or system not install the decoder !". Another thing is that the file opens right with the InterVideo WinDVD 4, but it gives an error message with Windows Media Player ...

Does anyone know what it can be? A problem of codec, maybe?

    Thanks in advance!!

Could be mpg2 video, that Windows doesn't support natively. Maybe ffdshow can assist?

You might drop it into Gspot 2.60 to see what the format is and if you have the needed codecs.

And see if you can open it in VirtualDub Mod. You can also scan for errors there. Then, depending on the format you want to convert to, you should also be able to it encode to a AVI type file like Xvid or Divx or similar.

Or try AutoGK, perfect for mpeg to avi (divx, xvid) conversions.
