Hello to all
I hope I am posting in the right place here.
I have recently bought via internet some dvd's containing older football matches. The place where I bought them had good reviews from everybody and I thought I should give it a try.
Unfortunately I have encountered a problem:
The DVD's are supposed to be video DVD's and I should be able to see them with a software like POWER DVD without any problem. However, when I use them in my DVD Drive (LG GSA 4163-B) I only see them as blanks.
What is really bothering me is that the DVD's seem burned when I look on their back side. So I am confused now.
Question is: Can I see/rip/test them somehow?
Or was I cheated with them?
Thanks for reading my message and for eventually trying to help me

Have you tried playing them on a settop dvd player? Do you get anything that way? It would be suprising that a dvd drive wouldn't see it at all. They are usually much more resilliant than settops. But try it on a settop and see if it plays. The only other test is to try it on a different computer with a dvd drive and hope it works. If you strike out on both tries then the only real conclusion is they were bad burns or bad media or blank. Its hard to say for sure. Good luck.

thanks for your reply.
settop dvd player means the dvd player that I have in the living room? yes I did...it is a dvd player that can read any type of media. still did not see these discs at all
i tried on another still did not see anything
I just wonder however why do they look burned when I look on their back? And...it is not one disc that I bought...but 5! could it be 5 bad media or bad burns?
is there any test online? in order to give me furhter information on the disc? -
I think there are a few test programs in the tools section found on the left. I think there is nerospeed or something like that. And yes I do mean the ones you hook up to the tv. Unfortunately it is possible to have multiple bad discs. Some older dvd players may have problems if they are +r discs but whether or not they are - or +r should have no impact on dvd rom/rw computer drives. It is quite possible that they are all duds. I'd ask for a refund or replacement if at all possible. Or just accept the possiblity they gave you bad discs. It can happen. I'm sorry it looks like you may have gotten taken. I wish you luck.
EDIT - one other possibiltiy is they were not "finalized" on a home dvd recorder. You might be able to use something like isobuster to try to recover the unfinished discs.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
