Hi,
I'm about to buy a Philips DVP5960 with DivX Ultra that supports xsub subtitles.
I have an xvid avi and its accompaning .srt file...is it possible to convert the .srt to xsub and burn it with the avi for playing?
Thanks

No.
xsubs are muxed as internal streams in divx files. So no avi file, no xsub file. Just one .divx file. Probably the player supports avi's with external srt's fine anyway. -
Thanks for the reply...I'm learning as I go on here.
I have a Philips DVP630 at the moment which handles DivX but doesn't seem to recognise .srt files when I burn them to disk with the xvid avi.
I'm a newbie....can I "embed" the .srt in the xvid avi so that I can choose it when playing it on my dvd player?
Thanks -
Embedded srt's are less well supported than external ones.
xsubs should work on any DivX certified player though, not just Ultra ones.
