ffmpegX config file location?

I installed the ffmpegX but each time I start it, it asks for the location of the mpeg*, mplayer.
The installer is broken IMO. Seems like a case of taking something simple and making it complicated.
I just want to edit the config file, but since I'm not familiar with macs I have no idea where to look.
Where does the config file live? And what's it called? Also why can't the installer allow for installation
in a user directory? What language is the installer written in? I wouldn't mind trying to alter it to allow
install into a user directory.

Any pointers to any of these would be much appreciated.

I changed it back from a sticky to a regular post.

Does the installer show up any of the 3 components in red text? If yes, this means you installed wrong files.
