my tmpgenc 2.5 does not sense any audio in any file I give it. Even if I extract the audio as a seperate wave file, when I encode the file it has no audio. If I look at the source range the audio does not display at all under the picture, just a flat line. Any idea how I can fix this? I've searched these forums and set the VFAPI directshow priority. These are not AC3 audio, so that's not a factor. I can encode ok with nero or ulead movie factory, but I prefer my tmpgenc.

Have you installed a codec pack or some other video sofware recently?

Or you can just convert the video with tmpgenc and convert the audio with something else like ffmpeggui (to ac3 or mpa audio).

I've extracetd the audio with virtualdub and saved it as a wav or mp3 and tmpgenc still can't do anything with it. I'm using lame for audio in tmpgenc.

What format is the audio ?

When you play the audio seperately, does it play ok (in say WMP or MPC) ?

Try ffmpeggui or belight (gui for besweet) maybe.

Btw. You said you're using LAME for audio in TMPGenc. . . How do you mean. Lame's an mp3 encoder. I'm confused

yes, lame is the audio encoder that tmpgenc is using, but it's not even getting to that point, As I described, tmpgenc doesn't seem to 'hear' the audio in the first place. I've tried mpa and wav. yes everything else can play the audio fine.

sorry for cross posting. I don't have any new information. I'm encoding with lame, but the problem is observed even before encoding. If I extract the AC3 audio with goldwave and save it as an mp3, tmpgenc does not 'hear' it. If I extract the audio as mp3 or wav from virtualdub, same thing.
