Hello,
I have created a Button Over Video (BOV) in my movie which allows me to jump to some predefined point in my movie. My questions are:
1- Does it have to be a pre-defined point or could it any point in the movie which can be typed by a keyboard or some sort or interactive maner to tell the movie to go to that point?
2- Is it possible to get the button some how a mean to get connected to internet (Considering that the DVD is played on a computer with Internet connection)?
Thank you in advance for you help. I am new in this DVD creating stuff but it is an amazing world and I have learnt ALOT from this website and greatful for it.
Cheers,
Khoramdin

These two completely different things here .
1: A dvd menu button can be linked to a chapter point , or cell ... which must be pre-defined when authoring .
2: What you want to do is create a dvd in the same manner as those that show that stupid interactive player on the pc (auto start junk)
It is possible to create such disc's for free , but these may not work in home player's ... tricky bugger's at best . -
Thanx for the reply, Bjs. Let me see if I undrestood this correctly.
The Button which is part or Subtitle Menu can NOT be used for the Internect connection. It can only be used for a predefined point on the movie.
You mention that I need to create a DVD in the same manner as thos that show that stupid interactive player on the PC (Auto Start Junk). I am not really clear what you mean by that. Could you be kind enough to elaborate on that please or point me to a tutorial where I can ger some information?
As I mention in my First Message, I would like to have Button visiable during the movie and give the option of getting connected to a particular website (Create an Internet Connection).
Thank you for your time and advice.

If you create a BOV, then you can attach a single DVD instruction to it or any group that combines into a single 8 byte instruction.
What you put in it and what it makes your player do is up to you and your authoring package.
As always the commands are limited by your current domain.

In relation to "interactive player on the PC" and other's , this in itself has more to do with the creation of dvd content with the inclusion of "non-dvd" file's and require's the pc to have "autorun" for optical drive's used to be enabled in order for it to function .
I have seen quite a few , some using interactive , and some designed to showcase ps2 game's ... it is something I have not had time to explore or investigate .
I will make time in the next few day's ... but here is what I refered to before :

And you can see why I refer to it as an idiot :

Dear Bjs and Lenosj,
Thank you for all the information.
As I am exploring DVDit Pro 6 + eDVD 4 & DVD-Lab Pro, would it be possible to rather capture the GOP Time or any other time realated information and send then to URL address at the time of selection on the (DVD-Internet) option which would be a Button Over Video or similar sort of selection menu?
Thank you in advance for all your help.
Cheers,
Khoramdin
