  1. Hey guys, I have some tv show clips in mpeg4 and I'm trying to simply edit parts of them out, but whenever I re-encode with virtualdub the audio is always out of sync. Is that because I am encoding from mpeg4 to mpeg4? What do I need to be aware of when re-encoding like this, and what might be causing the sync problems?

No, i'ts probably because of vbr mp3 audio.

Try instead virtualdubmod and select no when it asks if you want to rewrite the header. Or convert the audio to uncompressed wav and use it as source and then edit.

  3. Good idea, I knew that VBR audio was trouble....

Hey should I re-encode the audio or use direct stream copy, or does it matter as far as sync issues go??
