  1. Hi All,

I have a 125gig uncompress file, that for what ever reason Sony Vegas 7.0c will not let me add any filters to try to enhance this video. This a screen capture from a VHS DV copy, and I was looking for suggestion how what filters would do best to restore this best as possible. I plan on using the NeatVideo filter but man does that take ever!

I just can find anything for color levels. I believe the table cloth is a bit to loud. I have VirutalDub and Avisynth, but after reviewing all the articles I see on the different filters, I'm not quite sure which is current code wise.

I apprieciate any suggestion you recommend for filters to cleanup this up.

    Thanks.

    Matt

How does Vegas stop yo applying filters ?
What, if any, error message do you get ?
How are you trying to apply the filters ?

If you like Virtualdub, try ColorMill. It does some nice stuff.

Vegas allows me to add the filter, but you don't see any change in the video. I only have a problem with Vegas using this 125gig video file. Any other video file I have works fine. I'll take a look at ColorMill if I can find it.

    Thanks.

In my own experience, and according to NeatVideo's tech forum, NeatVideo doesn't interface with any SONY software. They say they plan on adding this later, but they've been saying it for 2 yaars. Meanwhile, I find it much easier and faster to use the filter with VirtualDub or AviSynth.

I just recently purchased NeatVideo, and I'm still learning. I finally created a decent profile, but I'm curious to know what are your setting are you are usiing for noise filtering? When I tried the removeall noise, and default filter, it just made my entire movie look like plastic. Then I tried the remove half the weak noise filter, and it still make the video look bad. So I'm curious to know what setting you are using for VHS tapes? The reason why I'm asking because during testing, this filter is very slow!!!!!!

    Thanks.
