Programs used: DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink

Skill Level: The only reason I can use these so well is that they are practicaly perfect from download for my needs. Other than this problem with a few discs, these two programs work great for me.

My problem: I have tried to back up several of my DVDs that are a bit scratched and worse for wear. I get the same message on all of them. something to the effect of:
"cannot find/locate file so and so vob01 or something like that" giving the reason of "check condition of disc". I am sure this is due to the scratches, but that is not my question.
My question is how can I burn the reamaining (.iso)files to a disc viewable on my DVD player as I do with COMPLETE backup files with DVD Shrink? I can play the remaining .iso files in my editing programs player, but thats it. Most of the time I am backing up a 7.3GB disc that is only missing one freaking file. I find it hard to believe you cannot skip one or two files with some programs help and burn the reamaning files to disc. However, in these particular cases I cannot get DVD Shrink to do it, it ALWAYS says "cannot locate file whatever, and cannot proceed".

I'm sure this is a super noob question, but I really am behind the curve on breaking down files and building them back up for disc burn.

Please help me with this one. Also, ANY suggestions on tutorials or other sites/posts to help me with working with iso/dvd files when you can't "one click" them would be appreciated.

  2. Have you tried using a program such as ISObuster? It can possibly salvage the entire contents of the disc. It can handle some pretty scratched up discs.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

No I have not tried that. Is it pretty easy to use? Any tweaking required to make it work?

Assuming it does not work tho, anybody have any suggestions on burning those remaining files?

BTW, is it even possible to burn the remaining files when it's missing one like that?
