  1. I have just bought a Sony CRX200E cd burner that can do double density CD's.

Has anyone managed to burn a vcd that was double density, and if so did it play on a stand alone DVD player, and thirdly, how did you burn it?

I have tried in Nero to do a 1.1Gb vcd, but it says its too big (yeah, I know) but there is no option to do a DD-CDR vcd (or to be specific x-vcd).

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but with the search page doen there is no way of checking.

    Cheers

  2. Sorry, but DD VCDs are impossible.

Unless I'm mistaken, the way that your double density CDs work is that the data can only be burnt in a form of packet writing. Thus, you can only use if for data but nothing else.

As it doesn't burn in the conventional way, you can't use double density CDs to make audio CDs or VCDs.

    Regards.
