xvid to divx convert??

any freeware or anybody know how i can convert some xvid films on my pc to divx??
need to do this as have purchased a divx dvd player and alot of films ive downloaded are in xvid format,any help please??

have you tried the xvids on the dvd player? most divx players supports xvid too.

But you can easily reconvert to divx with autogk or avi recomp.

yes i tried and they wont play so ill have to convert them,cheers for the help

Try using an AVI Fourcc Code Changer to change the fourcc code from Xvid to Divx. That only takes a few seconds and may be enough to convince your player to play them.
