    Hi everyone,

I have a Philips SAA7134 PCI AV tuner installed, and when I put my coax cable in the RF IN, I can get all the channels that are on the cable. I can watch TV perfectly. When I put the coax first through my VCR and then to the PC, I can still watch all of my channels.

So, here's my problem: I want to record something from my VCR to my PC (I put a short cable straight from RF out on the VCR to RF IN on the tuner), but I can't get any video... When I scan for channels, he doesn't find anything (but I notice that he stops a bit at channel 74-75), so when I go to channel 74 I can hear the audio of the VCR perfectly...

The strange thing is: about a year ago I tried to do the same thing and everything worked perfectly... I had to do a reformat, but I installed the latest drivers (and TV channels are working perfectly), so I don't think that's the problem...

I've used Intervideo WinDVR3, Intervideo Home Theatre, K!TV and they all do the same thing: audio, but no video...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

Wonder if the program has the VTR option ? , then the vcr becomes the channel changer via remote ?

Of course the audio will affect the picture quality doing it this way via the rf ... but go right ahead .

If the option on the card is available , video to rca input , capture audio via the pc line-in ... you'll need an adapter or two , and maybe the rca cable's , long enough to go between the device's ... without tripping all over them and hanging yourself by accident .

You'll get a better picture this way .
