I have the riped DVD files on my hard drive and can successfully burn them to DVD using Nero Burning ROM, the resulting DVD will play fine on my PC using WinDVD or Windows Media Player, however the resulting DVD will NOT play on my stand alone DVD player ( Sony DVP-NS725P) Error message: "Area limitations prevent playback." I've researched this and it seems that the Sony player will not play discs that have all regions set (code FF). It will play discs that have only region 1 set, or ( I believe) region zero set.
I've tried to use DVDDecrypter to set the VOB & BUP files to Region zero orRegion one but both times the resulting DVD (burned with Nero) shows all regions (code FF) set.
My sony DVP-NS725P does NOT have a hack available to make it "Region Free."
Is it possible to change the region code on a set of DVD files before/while burning them to disk? if so, how?
TIA

Burn the DVD to match your player's region code if region free is not working for you. DVDDecrypter and ImgBurn can do it.

It could also be a PAL / NTSC issue - seems like the message "Area limitations prevent playback." is used for both RCP and wrong TV system.

DVD Shrink can set all or any region on a disc already ripped to your HDD, however I am inclined to agree Mat's diagnosis of format, and not region, being the issue in the case.
