  1. what tool to use to join 2 audio files, wav's in my case? i don't want anything huge like sound forge or adobe audition, instead i'd like something neat like virtualdub and besweet

    Try the freeware audio editor Audacity. It works like a word processor, just cut and paste. It inputs WAV, Ogg Vorbis, MP3 and AIFF. Outputs WAV and MP3 (With the addition of the Lame MP3 Codec). Not sure about Ogg Vorbis or AIFF output. It also has quite a few filters available and handles multiple channels if needed.
