Ok I recently bought a sharp dvd recorder/vhs combo. It play at this stage any dvd from
any maker. The thing is I also have a disc with jpeg pictues on it. They all view fine on my
computer. There like over 200 jpgs on this disk ,but my dvd player will only show
25 photos. When I choose a folder other than in the first 25, it just says "No files", even
though it showed the first 25 jpgs in the previuos folder .

What can this be ? why is it ?

I don't know the answer for sure but here are some "pitfalls"

1.) Some DVD players don't like multiple folders. Try not to have folders or limit how many folders you have. Some DVD players that do handle folders A-OK also have a limit to how many folders you can use.

2.) Most DVD players have a resolution limit with JPEG files. So JPEG files that are in excessive of the supported resolution will not show or if they do show will show up all mucked up.

There are a few DVD players out there that support high resolution JPEG files but I haven't used one myself. One example that is fairly inexpensive is the Philips DVP-5960 and another that is a bit more expensive yet still reasonable in price is the Pioneer DV-490S. Please note these are USA model numbers although I'm sure there are corresponding models in Australia.

Anyways I'm guessing the issue is either the folders (to many) or the image size (resolution to high).

To troubleshoot I would make a disc with JPEG images and no folders and see how that goes. If you still find images that are not supported then time to check on the resolution of those files.

There may be some info on this in the manual although generally speaking most DVD manuals do not go into details like this (go figure).
