Hi, I recently bought a Sony TRV238 Hi-8 analogue camcorder to transfer my video 8 tapes onto my computer. I am using it with an analogue VideoXpress box which has female phono inputs for video & left & right stereo inputs. My problem is my camcorder is a mono one & only comes with an AV lead with 2 male phono plugs (video & just a a single audio phono plug) because its a mono camcorder. So I'm getting video ok, but the sound is only in the left & right speaker depending on which audio input I use on the VideoXpress box. I am wondering if I purchase the sony stereo AV lead that splits into 3 phonos (video & two audio stereo phonos) if this might solve my problem.
Thanks for any help on this

  2. A cheaper alternative would be to buy a Y-adapter from Tandy, Maplin or probably even your local high street consumer electronics shop.

    Something like this:

Thanks John for your help, I've been on the Maplin site & seen a Y splitter that I think is right (see pic) so I will buy one & try that.
    Thanks again
